A sense of place

The shape of Antalya.

Antalya is where Turkish golf began, and where most of it still happens. The coastline stretches east from the city in a long, sun-soaked arc — pine forests on one side, the warm Mediterranean on the other, the snow-capped Taurus mountains rising as a backdrop on every tee.

It is the country's golf capital not by claim but by density. A few square kilometres around Belek and Kadriye hold more championship courses than most countries can muster, each one shaped by a different signature — Faldo, Montgomerie, Thomas, Dye. Stay-and-play is the natural rhythm here: you walk from the suite to the buggy, drive five minutes between rounds, and end the evening with mezze on the cliff above the sea.

The golf calendar runs almost year-round. October and April are the quiet sweet spots, with bright days, immaculate fairways and evenings warm enough to dine outdoors. The summers are bright and hot — we route those trips to early-morning tee times and afternoons by the water.

Practical notes for Antalya.

The honest answers we give before every trip — best windows, airport routing, and the small details that take the edge off the planning.

Best season · Sept – May
Closest airport · Antalya (AYT)
Flight time · ≈ 4h from London
September through May — daytime temperatures sit between 16°C and 26°C and the courses are at their most generous. June to August is hot (often 35°C+); we route those trips toward early-morning tee times and afternoons by the sea.
Belek and the Kadriye golf belt sit 35–45 minutes east of Antalya International. Every Stay & Play we book includes a private transfer — you walk out of arrivals and into the car.
Most Belek courses are walkable, but distances between greens and tees on Carya, Cornelia and the Montgomerie can be long. Buggies are available at every club; on a hot afternoon we recommend taking one.
Light layers — mornings can be cool in shoulder season, afternoons bright. Soft-spike golf shoes (mandatory at most clubs), a rain shell for January-February, and lighter polos for the rest of the year.
